Mortgage Assistant / Mortgage Underwriter The Mortgage Centre Midland, Ontario Part-time (25 hours) $20 / Hour The Mortgage Centre Midland is part of Rock Capital Mortgage, one of the top Mortgage Centre brokerages in Canada. In Midland we are a leading provider of mortgage solutions and dedicated to delivering exceptional service and support to clients. Seeking someone to support a very busy business. Looking for a detail-oriented individual to support a mortgage broker with experience and knowledge in understanding and interpreting income documents. Candidate is expected to work in the office Hours Monday – Friday 9 am – 2:30 pm including a half hour unpaid lunch. This job will require flexibility in duties. The role may involve various tasks depending on the needs of the company. Personal assistant tasks may be required. A candidate for this role will need to be a self-starter who can multitask independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather details from clients for mortgage applications

• Review and analyze mortgage applications, credit reports and financial documents

• Determine mortgage eligibility

• Communicate effectively with mortgage underwriters and clients

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies

• Make informed decisions regarding mortgage approvals, turndowns, or conditions required for approval

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of underwriting decisions

• Communicate with clients to provide updates and request additional documents

• Sales and lead generation tasks including calling database

Qualifications

• Local to Midland and access to a vehicle

• Experience in reviewing documents to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Knowledge of the mortgage industry

• Proficiency in Microsoft and Excel

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Prioritize tasks well

We will train on fulfillment and underwriting.
